All about 3rd Quarter

Far as I remember, this 3rd quarter is fine. I learn to design a web page and continue blogging. Problem is that, we misplaced our flashdrive and is still nowhere to find. 

Hoping to get a higher grade this quarter.

Beauty of Christmas

Christmas trees, Christmas lights, and decorations are everywhere, making us feel that it's Christmas, the most beautiful day of the year. Santa Claus is always present, noche Buena for Christmas Eve, and special gifts that everyone hope for.

When Christmas is coming most of us seems excited. Excited maybe for holiday break, 13th month pay and gifts to receive. Little did we know that we slowly forgetting the true essence of Christmas and that is to share peace and love, and forgiving each other in the name of Jesus Christ who was given birth in this very special day. 

Christmas is to celebrate the birth of Christ. Christ> who is the symbol of love, light, hope and peace that makes this such a joyful season.

Equality for all

The 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW) is observed annually from November 25 to December 12 to raise awareness among all stakeholders that VAW is a public issue of national concern.  It supports the Philippine Government's goal to protect the human rights of women and its commitment to address all forms of VAW. 

The issue why VAWC is only for women and children is the fact there is already a law to cater on abuses against men in the Penal Code.

 “Women and children are vulnerable sector so the need for this special law,  no established data for violations against men and that it is a taboo on the local culture for men to complain lest they are laughed at.

Concerned employees were urged to extend GAD and VAWC advocacy to the barangays especially the requirement to establish women’s and children’s desk in every barangay.

Participants were grateful they have learned a lot  about  gender  and development which would be very helpful as they go about their respective jobs.

Breathe and live

Environment awareness remind us to protect, restore and enhance environmental quality towards good public health, environmental integrity and economic viability.

This year's celebration aims to raise awareness on how air pollution is destroying not just the environment but also the health of the public. The health effects of air pollution are serious, it's high time for everyone to work us one and strengthen our efforts to address it. Air pollution problem is hard to escape, we can't stop breathing, but we can do something to ensure we breath clean and healthy air.

Programs focusing on clean air, clean water and solid waste management in coordination with stakeholders, partner government agencies and local government units are the priority of the Environment Awareness Month.

For it's vision–A nation empowered to protect our finite natural resources, attuned to the pursuit of sustainable development, for a clean and healthy environment that enhances the Filipino Quality of life for present and future generations.

Children, our hope

With the theme, “Karapatang Pambata: Patuloy na Pahalagahan at Gampanan tungo sa Magandang Kinabukasan,” this year’s celebration of the National Children's Month is made extra special as it coincides with the 30th Anniversary of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UN CRC).

National Children's month aims to celebrate and recognize children as the most valuable assets of the nation as well as to emphasize the importance of their role within the Filipino family and Philippine society. To intensify public awareness on the rights of children and remind all sectors to be responsible in raising Filipino children to become well-rounded people, and to protect them at all costs, as enshrined in the UN CRC.

Empowering children as rights-holders and duty-bearers to deliver commitment to promote, protect, and fulfill their rights as children.

Filipino Values

The Filipino Values Month aims to mobilize all Filipinos for nation building through the practical exercise of human values in our daily lives as citizens and to awaken all to the power of these values in achieving the individual and national goals.

For this year, the theme of the Filipino Values Month celebration is “Pamilyang Pilipino Patatagin: Susi sa Paghubog ng Kabataang Maka-Diyos, Makatao, Makakakalikasan at Makabansa” which emphasizes the importance and critical role of the family in strengthening Filipino values and developing individuals who are pro-God, pro-people, pro-country, and pro-nature especially in this digital age.

Simple yet meaningful activities promoting Filipino values. Said activities must not be limited to having contests or competitions, exhibits of talents and innovations on creative arts, symposia or seminars, film showing or stage play on current issues related to the theme, but also incorporating values in lessons in all learning areas as we aspire to develop, manifest and advocate core Filipino values of Maka-Diyos, Makatao, Makakakalikasan at Makabansa.

Promoting Filipino values all year round to the best interest of all especially the young generation.

Our Planet, our Future

     Our planet is aging and we are slowly killing it. With the UN day 2019 celebration with the theme of " Our Planet. Our Future" we must take now an immediate action to save our planet, our home.

Each year, the global network of UN Information Centres organizes a variety of events to mark UN Day. Activities range from ceremonies, seminars, panel discussions, symposiums to series of briefings for students, art competitions, rallies, film screenings and book/photo exhibitions, media campaigns- including interviews and newspaper supplements- and social media campaigns. 

     Together let's save our future. Together let us take care of our mother Earth.
